DOLE® Fruit Crisps Party & Healthier Fruit Cobbler Dessert Recipe!

I was very excited to host a fun girls night with DOLE® Fruit Crisps recently. I invited some new and not so new friends over to enjoy some snacks and a little down time.

It had been a while since I have been able to have friends over so I was really excited for everyone to get to meet each other and have some fun. We shared some ideas for “quick fixes” to common problems in our lives including how DOLE® Fruit Crisps are a healthy and convenient quick fix for our snack cravings.

I received all kinds of goodies in my DOLE® Fruit Crisp party pack. There were several packages of all 3 flavors: Apple Cinnamon, Peach and Apple Pear as well as some Peach Juice and Vanilla Extract. DOLE® also sent some nail polish and permanent markers and a “Quick Fixes” tip sheet to give to all my guests.  I purchased some pretty spring plates, napkins and cups to go with the party theme. I also bought some additional bottles of nail polish and used some of the crinkled paper from the party pack along with a small Tupperware bowl to make a little swag bag for each of my guests to have and take home with them.

I am normally not a big fruit person, but the DOLE® Fruit Crisps are one of my favorite new snacks. If you have not tried them yet, they come in packs of 2 with all natural fruit in an individual cup and a crispy, sweet oat topping. You just open the fruit container and then sprinkle as much or as little of the crispy topping on it as you like. Each serving has about 160 calories and just 3.5 grams of fat.

While you can eat them how they come or warm it in the microwave, I decided to also make a healthy alternative to one of my favorite snacks – baked fruit cobbler.  I used 6 individual packs of the Apple Pear and spread the fruit part out in a 9 inch round pie pan.  I sprinkled some brown sugar over the fruit then I covered the top with the crispy oat topping that comes with the DOLE® Fruit Crisps. I baked it in the oven at 400 degrees for about 30 minutes.

My house smelled so good while this was baking! It made the best dessert! It was so easy, simple and delicious. It makes a great alternative to regular fruit cobbler which has a lot more sugar and fat in it.

Everyone loved the warm dessert I made and could not believe that it was just the DOLE®Fruit Crisps and a little extra brown sugar! The overall favorite flavor was the Apple Pear and I have to agree as it was my favorite too.

We all had a great time enjoying each other’s company, laughing, talking and eating. It was a great reminder that time spent with friends as well as healthy convenient snacks can be great quick fixes to the stresses that our busy lives can bring us!
