Motivating Monday Link Up Feb 25 2013

Good Monday Morning! Welcome to the Motivating Monday Link up at CEO of Me for this week! Each Monday I share a motivating though of my own, then you are welcome to link up your own motivational, inspirational, healthy living, household tips, ideas and any helpful family-friendly posts.

Motivating Monday Link up at CEO of MeI read this quote the other day: “People with goals succeed because they know where they’re going.” – Earl Nightingale and it really made me stop and think. Having goals is something I am well known for. Frankly I think I set my goals and standards too high sometimes or just have too many goals so I end up not really focusing on one long enough and hard enough to reach it.

Having a goal and knowing where you want to go is just the first step of the process.  You have to actually start living a life, making choices and doing things that will get you on and keep you on the path to getting to the other side of your dreams.  I’ve let myself get sidetracked so many times. I have some big changes coming in my life starting next month (I’ll be sharing more about that later this week).  These upcoming changes have reminded me that I need re-evaluate my goals and make sure I am actually spending my minutes and hours doing things that are going to get me closer to those goals instead of just trying to do everything and reach every goal all at once.

Success is a journey and there are many goals and dreams to reach along the way. You don’t have to reach them all at once and frankly it’s not likely could reach them all at once. If you love to travel and want to go to Europe, you would have to visit one country at a time and make the most of that experience, then you move on to the next country. I don’t want to dabble in a dozen things anymore, I want to focus on just 2 or 3 big goals so I can make the most of my life, time and influence.

“One reason so few of us achieve what we truly want is that we never direct our focus; we never concentrate our power. Most people dabble their way through life, never deciding to master anything in particular.” – Tony Robbins

What about you? What goals do you have & what kind of plan of action do you have in place? Do you need to re-evaluate your goals too and focus in on just one or two things for right now like I am learning to do?

I totally agree with you on this. I have gotten so caught up in making goals that I forgot that I actually have to achieve them. I too have resolved to make fewer goals with the intent on making more progress. Thank you for the eye opening post.
