Last week I had the chance to see the Rascal Flatts Movie “Changed” which was part of the debut of their new album “Changed”. As a big fan of their music, I was very excited to be able to attend this special one night event. I was expecting it to be like one of the documentaries or specials you see on GAC or CMT. I expected to see some behind the scenes exclusives, a peek into their family lives, the stories behind their music and what the new album “Changed” was all about. What I did not expect was to need a tissue, actually several tissues.
“Changed” is about all the important things that influence our lives and make us who we are. It’s about following your heart and your passion even when you aren’t sure where to go or what to do. It’s about choices and how they shape our lives and the lives of those around us.
We were able to get glimpses into Jay, Joe Don and Gary’s lives at home, their families and what really drives them. It was great how personal the guys were. It felt like they were talking to us like we were their friends and sharing their stories with no holds barred. You can tell how much these guys really love their fans, love the music and how they want to make a difference in the world.
It was great to see how much they are giving back by supporting Feeding America too. In America no one should ever go hungry but 1 out of 7 Americans do go hungry. It is a staggering statistic and I am glad Rascal Flatts is helping bring awareness to this important issue.
The music in the movie was phenomenal. Whether you are a Rascal Flatts fan or not, you have to admit that these guys have some incredible talent. They sang a few of their major hits and fan favorites like “Fast Cars and Freedom” “The Broken Road” and “Life is a Highway.” They also debuted several new songs like “Banjo”, “Hot in Here”, “She’s Leaving” and “Changed” of course.
The song the album is named after has a wonderful story and message. It is a great reminder that any day we can start fresh and get back on the right track. Redemption can be found through God’s grace and mercy. We have the chance to make things right, be made new and truly live a life of purpose and passion.
There were so many things that really hit home for me in this movie. It was a great remember that we need to be living life to the fullest and using the talents and abilities God has given us. All three of the guys talked about doing what you are passionate about and how you have to keep that passion alive. We shouldn’t just go through the motions of life; we should really be living it. We should make the most of all that we have been given and make sure that we are working to make a difference in the world.
I truly enjoyed Rascal Flatts “Changed” movie. “Changed” was more than a concert movie. It was a motivational, inspiring reminder about what is truly important in life. It was definitely not what I expected but I am so glad I had the chance to see it. If it comes out on DVD I would highly encourage you to rent or purchase it!
